Quarter Ponies are a relatively new western pony breed to Australia. With the influence of alot of Quarter Horse blood, they have the same fantastic, laid back temperament and versatility that Quarter Horses are know for, just in a smaller child-friendly package. They are gaining popularity in the US and as more Australians find out about them, they are sure to become a popular pony breed here as well.

I started looking into Quarter Ponies in 2001 when I was pregnant with my first child as I loved the temperament of the Western Breeds just wanted it downsized for kids.

After alot of research and lots of conversations with breeders in the USA I took the plunge and started breeding AUSTRALIAN QUARTER PONIES. The Australian Quarter Pony Association was set up in early 2006 and from a small group of very dedicated breeders and enthusiasts the word about this great little family friendly pony breed is starting to spread in Australia.

I took a step out of breeding over the last year or so when I was pregnant with my youngest child but have now been bitten with the bug to breed again and I am currently looking around for suitable breeding stock to produce dual registered Paint Quarter Ponies for the kid in all of us!

Our beautiful girl, Smoakin Hot Bootie aka Tilly, was the Pin Up Pony for the Australian Quarter Pony Association in November 08.
